Moon Over Buffalo |
|||||||||||||||||||
| By Ken Ludwig Directed by Mark David Skura Presented: |
Charlotte and George Hay are on tour in Buffalo in 1953, with a repertory consisting of a “revised, one nostril version” of Cyrano de Bergerac and Noel Coward’s Private Lives. Fate has given these aging thespians one more shot at starring roles in The Scarlet Pimpernel epic, and director Frank Capra himself is en route to Buffalo to catch their matinée performance. Will Charlotte appear or run off with their agent? Will George be sober enough to emote? Will Capra see Cyrano, Private Lives or a disturbing mixture of the two? Hilarious misunderstandings pile on top of madcap misadventures in this “valentine to theatre hams” everywhere. Having directed Aurora Players’ productions of See How They Run, Lend Me A Tenor, Catch Me If You Can, and Over My Dead Body, Mark David Skura brings his considerable directorial talents to this comedic farce. On-stage, he lists AP credits in 110 In The Shade, The Mikado, The Fantasticks! (also with Springville Players and Playhouse Theatricals) and The Music Man, which garnered him a Best Actor Award for his portrayal of confidence-man-turned-marching band-leader Harold Hill. Mark has also appeared in The Road To Bethlehem with Alleyway Theatre in Buffalo. For the last 26 years – with over 30 productions to his credit – he has been the Director of Drama at St. Francis High School in Athol Springs.
