Script Submissions
As part of Aurora Players’ mission, we actively encourage prospective directors to submit plays of all genres to our Play Reading Committee for possible inclusion in the next season’s slate of productions.
To nurture new directors who wish to take on this crucial role in play production for the first time, we offer the opportunity to work initially on a production as an assistant director, under the guidance of an established veteran Players’ director.
For an experienced director, working initially in this role with the Aurora Players, the group provides an artistic liaison, who will support the director through-out the production process.
The Play Reading Committee seeks to select a varied , balanced season of productions that includes , in general ,a” comic” piece( comedy/murder mystery, farce, etc.) a drama, and a musical; we look for quality plays that are appropriate for our patrons and will provide a creative, perhaps challenging, experience for our participating members.
The Play Reading Committee accepts directors’ submissions through-out the year, with a mid-March deadline for each upcoming season.
