Infringement Festival Open Auditions - Saturday, June 20

Postby timm061 on Thu Jun 11, 2009 1:24 pm

If you're a performer and you're looking for an Infringement show to be involved with, or you are producing a show and you're still looking for performers? . . . Then come to the Infringement Festival's open auditions, Saturday June 20th from 1pm - 5pm at The Manny Fried Playhouse. (home of Subversive Theater)

This will work pretty much like any audition; directors and producers will sit in the audience and watch as actors and performers present an audition piece of up to three minutes in length. From there directors & producers are free to ask auditioners read for
specific roles.

This event is being co-ordinated by Festival organizer Virginia Brannon. Any question should be directed to her at 228-1403.

FOR ACTORS & PERFORMERS:
Walk-ins are welcome, no appointments necessary. Please come prepared with an audition piece (no more than three minutes long), headshot, and resume. But even if you don't have some or all of these things, you're still welcome to come -- we can always ask you to do cold readings if you have no audition piece. When it comes to audition pieces, this is infringement, so anything from the traditional monologue to the totally unconventional performance is welcome.

FOR DIRECTORS & PRODUCERS:
You may want to bring sides from your project for actors to read from. Things may get complicated if there are a lot of directors there who all want to have the same actor read for different roles. One of Virginia's tasks as the organizer of this event is to
referee the whole thing and make sure everyone gets a fair turn. Please be patient and cooperative with the whole process.
Virginia will keep contact information for all auditioners on file and make this information available to directors & producers upon request.

DIRECTIONS TO THE PLAYHOUSE.
The Manny Fried Playhouse is on the third floor of the Great Arrow Building at 255 Great Arrow Avenue. This is in North Buffalo, two blocks north of Amherst Street between Elmwood & Delaware Avenues.

PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD AND FORWARD THIS MESSAGE ONTO ANYONE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED.
